Whenever I shop the flea market, I'm always trying to look past what something is and imagine what it could be. A silver serving spoon buried in a box of onsies might look black and tarnished, but could very well be a beautiful diamond in the rough! All it takes is a little imagination and some good silver polish. For the full story, come back Monday afternoon!
So true! I have a pile of silver (stuff my mom was getting ready to toss. Horror!) waiting to be polished. I’m a big fan of Wright’s…which I used to buy at Linens N Things. Need to find a new supplier asap! 🙂 Can’t wait to see what you’ve got up your sleeves…
You blondes…always such a tease…
😉
Can you come to Dallas! GOSH!
Eddie…I’ll definitely be back. Polishing my silver has been on the back burner for too long! You must be a mind reader…♥Rosemary
I just discovered a crock full of old silver my husband purchased many years ago full of some of the greatest pieces. I can’t wait to start polishing on them and do a tablescape for the blog.. I’m so glad you posted this, I unfortunately would have forgotten about a beautiful treasure..hugs ~lynne~
so true! polishing up tarnished silver is definitely akin to finding a diamond in the rough!
Oh yeah… I love finding old silver and polishing it up at home!!
I can’t wait to see how it all turned out :)!
Agreed, Eddie. But there is possibly nothing I dislike more than polishing silver though you would not know that from the amount of time I spend in that regard. I love, love, love the silver cabinet strips which keep out the tarnish. What a help!
Hi eddie
Love sparkling old silver! Polishing it up — not so much. But show me how, and I’ll try it!
Thanks Eddie
Ciao!
Have just found your Blog, but enjoyed watching you arranging flowers on YouTube. Loving the transformation of the silver objects. My mother gave me all her family silver because I loved cleaning it so much as a child. It’s not posh or expensive stuff, but the shapes are glorious, and the warm glow of old silver is just lovely. There is nothing better than seeing the sparkle emerge from the blackened surfaces simply by rubbing a bit! Its the classic genie-in-a-bottle thing: one day I’ll rub and a genie WILL pop out!
Cheers to you, Eddie.
