Washer and dryer, you say? Well, this morning, I woke up in my 1890s Victorian era farmhouse to hear the sound of my cats going after the tube leading out to the dryer vent. Yes, the birds have once again loosened the cage over the vent to come in from the cold.
Congratulations on your home ownership and welcome to the wonderful world of old houses!
I made the move from the city to the country 15 yrs. ago and have never looked back.
I'm excited for you, and cannot wait to see what you'll do, to turn that house into a home.
But, I guess you're entitled to a few more days to lollop around the proverbial cloud nine before the magic begins.
Congratulations!
Move over Martha here comes Eddie- We have to come up a great name for this house-
I am obviously addicted to your blog - I know you aren't posting until the 9th yet I keep checking in to get my daily dose of EDDIE! Cant wait to see your gorgeous furniture in this house-

Once you get settled I will have to give you guys the tips on all the little shops that abound in the area. Really unique pottery artists, glass blowers, lace makers and of course, the antique barns! Love em'! Hope the move is an easy one!
Eddie, I love, love, love the new house. You know what I love most? Those awesome plank floors. I can't wait to see what you and Jaithan to do the place. I know it'll be spectacular.

Oh my God. When I read about your move I was so happy for you but I will admit I did have a "Green Acres" moment of panic. I didn't want to mention it because I thought it might be rude. It is so weird and now you have addressed the issue with such a hilarious photo. Good Luck and can't wait to hear more once you get settled. Penny

You too guys are 'hysterical' but alas 'Great Minds' think alike -- the same thought occurred to me was "Green Acres Show- well maybe not exactly, "Great Minds" ..... the thought that flashed through my mind of the late & beloved "Tasha Tudor" at her beautiful homestead I think it was in Vermont? --with her Corgie dogs.. Wishing you both Smooth Sailing" and throw in a couple of Alpaca's and you are set to go!

I have to say I was quite moved this morning when I opened up my email account and found you had replied to my comment in an email. How classy is that! May you be blessed with a lifetime of happiness in your new home! Can't wait to see all of your new updates and pictures.

Well good luck with that! Moving is no fun, but you must be excited to have more space. I know I would need more space to house my collections in I were in NY. Love the picture...funny!
Your 'Dah-ling' photo made me smile profusely, as I too this weekend take possession of my country place. It's not so rich in character and history as yours, unless you call stuck-in-the-70s-bad-rusted-harvest-gold fixtures & appliances character!! As an interior designer in Vancouver, I plan to escape to my seaside shack up the coast where I will be in renovation heaven, all the while checking your blog for terrific inspiration. All my best on your new home and cheers to country living!
Should I admit that I actually used to like watching Green Acres?!
Can't wait to see everything you do in your new home. You guys are the best. Congrats on your move! Kate

I just saw your new home. I can't believe how dreamy it all is, especially the four legged neighbors! Thanks for sharing all the pics. My gosh how exciting! Congratulations you two.
(P.S. Please think about setting up an owl box on one of those trees. Wouldn't that be awesome!)
