Hysterical photograph! Good luck with the move. We can’t wait to hear more about it. Are you going to do all of the moving yourself? Happy thoughts for you all this weekend!
Your ‘Dah-ling’ photo made me smile profusely, as I too this weekend take possession of my country place. It’s not so rich in character and history as yours, unless you call stuck-in-the-70s-bad-rusted-harvest-gold fixtures & appliances character!! As an interior designer in Vancouver, I plan to escape to my seaside shack up the coast where I will be in renovation heaven, all the while checking your blog for terrific inspiration. All my best on your new home and cheers to country living!
Well good luck with that! Moving is no fun, but you must be excited to have more space. I know I would need more space to house my collections in I were in NY. Love the picture…funny!
I have to say I was quite moved this morning when I opened up my email account and found you had replied to my comment in an email. How classy is that! May you be blessed with a lifetime of happiness in your new home! Can’t wait to see all of your new updates and pictures.
~Shelle
You too guys are ‘hysterical’ but alas ‘Great Minds’ think alike — the same thought occurred to me was “Green Acres Show- well maybe not exactly, “Great Minds” ….. the thought that flashed through my mind of the late & beloved “Tasha Tudor” at her beautiful homestead I think it was in Vermont? –with her Corgie dogs.. Wishing you both Smooth Sailing” and throw in a couple of Alpaca’s and you are set to go!

I just saw your new home. I can’t believe how dreamy it all is, especially the four legged neighbors! Thanks for sharing all the pics. My gosh how exciting! Congratulations you two.
(P.S. Please think about setting up an owl box on one of those trees. Wouldn’t that be awesome!)
I cannot wait to see what you do with your new home. Does your neighbor have an Arnold the Pig?
As a military spouse I have moved so many times (even trans-atlantic moves) it’s not funny. I love to move though because it give me a chance to mix it up. Have fun with your move!
OOOh I am so excited for you. I know you and Jaithan have been looking so good luck! I hate the actual moving part of moving but having the opportunity to make a fresh start in a new place is always refreshing. PS What do you think about what happened to Domino!
I love the photo but that house is fantastic!!! So much of the original charm…lucky, lucky you!!! I see alot of great posts on the way with your new adventure of city boys to countygentlemen!!!! I can’t wait…
I wish you were on my side of the River so I could bump into you at the shops!
Move in safely and well wrap and bubble wrap your most precious items and mark the boxes clearly on all sides —in your pre-determined code FM= family room how simple was that??? Please take my suggestions as mere suggestions for you or others that read this comment zone . These are comments and I hope they are seen as comments not something mean spirited.

I can only image the what you will experience during the summer. Sitting outside, listening to the country sounds and enjoying each other and your surroundings. I am so excited for both of you.
Pink is definitely your color! Enjoy the move — use it as an excuse to repurpose and reinvent all your decorative goodies. And, of course, an excuse to go looking for just the right thing for that little nook in …. Ah, but I doubt you need an excuse!
Okay…that picture is slightly disturbing…can’t say I’ll sleep well tonight after that visual Eddie 🙂 Congrats on the new home and you must be a whirl with ideas for it I’m sure. It will be so much fun for you guys to shop for your new place…no more storage issues…no more stacking things for space…lots of room to entertain now 🙂 Have a safe move and don’t lift things that might yank a ham string…one word “Advil” take care and Whahoo on the new digs. Hi Eddie. Congratulations on your move. We spend the weekends across the river in West Camp near Saugerties. Ifyour ever around our parts, email me andI’ll show you around. Good luck to you and Jaithan. Priscilla
That’s it? One day we get an email with photos of your new house and the next day you are moving!!! Your timing is good Eddie. . . when I saw those emails I wondered how long it would take to start seeing the transformation of that house! This will be fun!
Man you two don’t mess around… When you say you’re moving, YOU MOVE!! Congratulations on your awesome find and I can’t not WAIT to be on the journey of your new house becoming a home. Thank you so much for sharing with us!

Hi, a few questions….is it the house w/ the complete acreage? Are the animals included? I can’t wait to read about it in your future blogs. Best of luck to you both! 70acres is a lot of elbow room.
silly me, I just read your previous post and answered my question about the animals. Even better, you can enjoy them w/o all the work. Hopefully you can have your own flock of chickens if you want them, of course. Best wishes.
Wow..the house looks great. I can’t wait to see the rehab..I hope it is a tv show/book or at least LOTS of pictures here.
I’ve been reading for some time, but never have commented. I love your style. This is generally the first thing I read so I’ll miss your blog.
Millerton looks like a nice little town (I goggled), bet you could set up a shop.
Come to DC and flea market. My husband has a weekly route, but he could use your upscale taste. We moved 2 years ago for space issues and then inherited lots of family stuff from my mom. Moving is a chore, but well worth it. We back to parkland and even in the city of Alexandria we have deer and fox in the back yard. You’ll love the country. Looks like good neighbors…how can you not love the sheep!
Congratulations on the house, I am so jealous. I cannot wait to see what you gents come up with on decorating, this is so thrilling. I am living vicariously through you and I know you won’t disappoint. Is that too much pressure?
Oh my God. When I read about your move I was so happy for you but I will admit I did have a “Green Acres” moment of panic. I didn’t want to mention it because I thought it might be rude. It is so weird and now you have addressed the issue with such a hilarious photo. Good Luck and can’t wait to hear more once you get settled. Penny
Congrats to you both. Boy, Obama saving the country, you two making a new life and I can’t even find time to get the laundry done. Time management is the key and you two having it going on. Enjoy each and every moment.
Wow! Your home is great can’t wait to follow you guys with all the decorating. I am a new blogger but have been enjoying yours for sometime and you have inspired me. Thanks Guys
My best wishes to you and Jaithan on your new home. I’m sure you’ll enjoy and cherish everything you will that your talented fingers can do to make this house, your beautiful home.

Eddie, I love, love, love the new house. You know what I love most? Those awesome plank floors. I can’t wait to see what you and Jaithan to do the place. I know it’ll be spectacular.
Once you get settled I will have to give you guys the tips on all the little shops that abound in the area. Really unique pottery artists, glass blowers, lace makers and of course, the antique barns! Love em’! Hope the move is an easy one!
What a Great house and setting! Land spreadin’ out so far and wide… Keep Manhatten but give me that Countryside! Your blog is my first stop after filling my coffee cup!

But, I guess you’re entitled to a few more days to lollop around the proverbial cloud nine before the magic begins.
Congratulations!
Washer and dryer, you say? Well, this morning, I woke up in my 1890s Victorian era farmhouse to hear the sound of my cats going after the tube leading out to the dryer vent. Yes, the birds have once again loosened the cage over the vent to come in from the cold.
Congratulations on your home ownership and welcome to the wonderful world of old houses!
