It's flea marketing season and to kick it off, last weekend Jaithan and I spent a glorious spring morning at Elephant's Trunk in New Milford, Connecticut, one of my absolute favorite flea markets. Check it out!
And next month, after all the fun we had shopping with new friends in New York, Atlanta, and Los Angeles, we're taking the show on the road again, and I hope you'll join us! Here's a working list of cities and dates from now through December, just to give everyone a chance to plan! Each shopping trip lasts about two and half hours, full of unique, clever, and useful tips on how to find the very best things at the market, including furniture, china, silver, linens, glass, and art! For a great recap on our trip to Scott's in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, click here. And for Apartment Therapy's coverage of our trip to the Rose Bowl in March, click here. The cost is $45, plus the price of admission (if any) to the market. Space is limited, so email Jaithan for reservations. See you at the flea market, everyone! Oh, and if we happened to miss your town, by all means, speak up!

Hello,
A little confused on the Washington, DC flea market. The link goes to a site with 3 different flea markets listed (none of which is the historic Eastern Market, newly re-opening soon after a tragic fire about a year ago)...but alas none of the dates listed on the seperate link, match to the dates you have posted for Washington, DC...???? Can you clarify? Thanks!

Hi Eddie! We are excited to hear you are coming to Kane County- and hope you can find OUR booth near the West Gate. Two tan canopies near the end with a floral banner we made from upholstery scraps. We are the IowaJunkGypsies and we have a ton of fun!

How do I buy tickets for your shopping trip to Scott's Antique Mart in Atlanta in June?
Posted by: Tina Christopher | May 14, 2009 at 12:01 PM
Oh Eddie, I am so disappointed! I am going to be almost 9 months pregnant when you come to Texas for the Round Top Antiques Fair. :( I hate that I'll likely have to miss it. By the time I know if I'll feel up to going, it will be too late to book a spot.
Promise you'll come to Austin in the future!

Hey Eddie...Come to Portland OR..whenever I'm out shopping with my partner I always find items and say Eddie would love this! lol So please consider bringing your fabulousness to Portland..we will even treat yall to dinner and cocktails!

If not for my brother getting married on June 13, I would be at Scott's in a heartbeat. Happy hunting!

Dearest Eddie,
Since you'll be in Chicago on June 6, you should stop by my neighborhood's annual garage sale in the morning on the way to the Kane Co Flea Market. Bagels and coffee in my backyard and shopping in a neighborhood that has Historic Landmark status....

Eddie and Jaithan,
Tell me so that I am not a dreamin... Kane County in June.... I am going to make sure I am around and if so I will be there for sure...
How can I not go meet you since you will be at least 30 minutes from me.
Kane County is awesome and you must meet some of my favorite vendors.... Geneva is right around the corner and it's beautiful as can be.
WOW I am truly excited. I will post this info on my blog if you both don't mind.
And did I miss a birthday... don't tell me you are an ARIES.... just like moi....
have a wonderful evening!

Eddie...i'm thrilled you're coming to Todd Farm on October 18th...right after my birthday!! Please sign me up. The only problem is that for some reason i'm unable to link to J's email to sign up. Any chance you can send me his address?!
And...make sure to check out the ETC. SHOP if you ever get to Meredith NH, right near Squam Lake and Lake Winnepesaukee (sp?). Like a flea market you have to have an eagle eye...but if you spend some time hunting you can walk out with fabulous finds as I did this past weekend!

Happy, happy birthday to you! Has Spring sprung at your new house? Its always exciting to see what plants come up at a new abode when you move there in winter. I hope something special was in the yard, like lots and lots of lilac bushes.
Posted by: cj | April 22, 2009 at 10:40 PM
You need to have a tv show!
It's fun to watch you because you're well informed about your items and your enthusiasm and appreciation of small, simple things is really infectious.
Anyone who has the chance to go flea marketing with you shouldn't pass it up!
Posted by: paul | April 22, 2009 at 05:58 PM
Well you won't be in Minneapolis,(where I'm from), but I see you'll be in Round Top, TX y'all! I was there in the spring with Sue Whitney from Junk Market Style and it was an absolute hoot! You for sure will have to try to make it to the Junk Gypsy's Prom. I'm hoping to be there, maybe bringing a whole crew! Btw, thanks for the personal welcome. It really meant a lot!
Posted by: Lanette | April 22, 2009 at 04:46 PM
Hi Eddie! Wow I've missed you. I've been AWOL for a while (but not on purpose) But I'm happy to be back.
I love the listings of flea markets. You will be a busy man! I lived in Washington D.C. for a number of years and I visit friends there in September around my birthday. I think I may be there for the
D.C. Big Flea. I love D.C. I find it an exciting city - and of course the Kennedy Center is the place to be for me! Hope to see you there. ciao!
Posted by: ralphie | April 22, 2009 at 04:29 PM
Lame! No Seattle? We have better sales than ANYONE! ;) ;) Anytime you're stopping through, Eddie, let me know - I'll give you a tour!

Eddie! I want to come see you and Jaithan again!

Love the red and white table cloth, when is the lobster bake?
Posted by: Susan | April 22, 2009 at 10:25 AM
A written AND video blog . . . brilliant!
I'm sorry, though, that you won't be coming to Santa Fe, but have just heard that our flea market has gone downhill since being moved from the opera grounds to Tesuque Pueblo lands. Well, you'll have to plan a trip someday soon just for our beautiful town, our wonderful restaurants, our drop-dead views . . . and a cocktail party in your honor at our mountain home instead.
Posted by: Lynn | April 22, 2009 at 10:24 AM
Eddie:
You do know there is a spring Christie sale on May 23? There is always a spring and fall one.
These are excellent shows but I am sure you know that already ;)

As a Bostonian, I encourage folks in New England to go to the Todd Farm event! It's one of our best kept secrets... but GO EARLY in the morning!! Brimfield? Eh. Todd's is the best. And take Route 1A back to Boston through Essex and all the cute little towns along the way. Essex has some FABULOUS antique shops (a claim to fame) and amazing fried clams! A box of fried clams, some flea market finds, and a cold beer on the ocean. It may very well be the perfect fall day!
Posted by: Kate | April 22, 2009 at 09:29 AM
You did it again! Amazing. Love seeing your finds...looking forward to seeing more!

Oh, I will be a couple of the dates! I cannot wait. Farmington and New Milford, oh yea! Whoopee!
Posted by: Lucien | April 22, 2009 at 08:21 AM
Hi everyone!
One note on Brimfield: While I think there's a lot to offer, at this point, so many people know about it that I just find it overwhelming and overpriced. With the others on the list, there's still room to move around and find a bargain!
Eddie

Eddie, just watched the "Elephant's Trunk" video and loved it! I was looking at your shopping schedule and didn't see "Brimfield"? Would you consider going there? As you probably know, it's a great show!

Posted by: Carla Fox | April 21, 2009 at 10:45 PM
Eddie, Round Top is great, but you should also come check out Urban Market in Houston (which is held twice a year, in November and February). It's great!
[I also maybe want you selfishly to come to Houston so I can go shopping with you!]
Posted by: Averill | April 21, 2009 at 10:44 PM
NO YOU CAN'T COME TO KANE COUNTY IN JUNE...I HAD PLANS ON BEING OUT OF TOWN!!!!! OH NOW YOU DID IT....I am so confused on how to handle that weekend. I will have to come back early :) I can't possiblly miss you coming into my neck of the woods....
You might want to check out Sandwich Antiques Market...http://www.antiquemarkets.com/
They normally have better vendors but with the economy everyone is hurting. If you like I could do a walk through for you in May, just to see what they have...photos etc??? Let me know.
Oh ...the choices.

Brillant video!!!! I have watched it five times today! Just LOVE your fabulous finds -- and can't wait to see your latest projects! Best of all -- I adore the tall tulipiere -- and yes!! just imagine having appetizers on pretty skewers or toothpicks in that -- on a gorgeous table -- of course! Or as a centerpiece with gorgeous flowers! Breathtaking!

Oh my!
No kidding Eddie - I could watch you all day long! This is the first time I am "meeting" you in person. I would LOVE to see you with your own tv show - but I am assuming that it would take a huge amount of time away from your life as you know it. But I'd be happy with these little snippets - keep them coming. VERY entertaining and informative and just plain FUN!!

Love the webisodes! You're gearing me up for tag/estate sale season, and I can not look at flatwear the same! I am surprised that you are not hitting the Brimfield Flea Market?

LOVED the video! Have you thought about coming to the Nashville Flea Market? I know I would definately join you, as would my mom. It wouldn't be too far of a drive for Southern Hospitality :) (Her blog is where I found you) The Nashville Flea Market is usually the 4th weekend of every month, with no admission price. If not this year, maybe next...
