They lent the perfect amount of shade for all those summer meals on the porch. And now that the weather upstate has turned chill and the leaves begun to change, I thought I'd do a quick, casual arrangement in all the colors of the season, hoping to inspire your inner florist.
The vintage pitcher is one of my favorites this time of year—pewter with a beautiful, burnished patina. See you in a few days, everyone!

I love your sunflower post. I am a sunflower aficianado having spent various parts of my life in Kansas and France. Those sunflowers look particularly beautiful against the color of your house. I did a post on Sept. 14 "Soft air/Golden sight", you might enjoy.

Eddie...I've already pulled up all of my summer flowers. You make me sorry I didn't leave them in the ground longer. Be sure and save the sunflowers for the birds. ♥Rosemary

Oh, sunflowers, I love them in wild gardens, gating the entrance to fairies and autumn fantasy....
It's so good to see these things, right?

I wonder if those little sunflower seeds would grow like that here, or if they just knew that they were living at your house and said>"We really must grow, cause we are gonna be in pictures"-
Good luck to you, (not that you need any) You will be fab!

Gorgeous Eddie... I think these deeper coloured sunflowers are so much prettier than the buttercup yellow ones in France.
