Of the eight finalists in last week's ornament wreath challenge using, as I did here, a simple wire hanger...
...this one stood out a hair above the rest. Congratulations, Lauren of Duluth, Georgia! So to add even more gilded glamor to her décor, we're wrapping up an unusual vintage brass chamber candlestick (with snuffer!) from the butler's pantry, together with a pair of our very own 18" ivory tapers. Thank you again, everyone, for sending in your wreaths! Check back tonight for all the decadent after shots of the elves at work.

Just stopping by to let you know I featured this project on this round-up

Hi, Eddie! Thanks for picking my wreath as one of the final eight. Mine is the one one at the top with the red satin bow. I looked forward to making this wreath all year, collecting the vintage ornaments from various thrift and antiques shops along the way. Most of my balls were were vintage, although I did use some new ones to round it out. In my mind it turned out very White Christmas-y! Great fun!
Happy New Year!

I think all of the wreaths were well done, but what set some apart from the others was the ribbon choice. Lush ribbon makes the wreath look really complete and luxurious. Synthetic looking or undersized ribbon takes a lot away from the finished project. Congrats to everyone who made one though, because I just think about it every year and kick myself for never getting around to making one!

Although they were all lovely, the gold one definitely stood out. That was my # 1 choice as well.

For once my choice won. It really stands out and I can only think how beautiful an all-silver wreath would look.
