Last week in Richmond, between color seminars at the Home Show, Jaithan and I did a quick spin through one of our favorite stores, West End Antiques, tweeting as we went. Here's a pair of Louis XVI style chairs I found with a classic shape but updated with a cool cowhide and silver nailheads.
I'd pair them with a punchy turquoise sofa with yellow and white trellis pillows, along with a modern chrome and glass coffee table. On either side of the sofa, I'd do a pair of Chinoiserie side tables, lacquered cream with black opaline lamps. The floors I'd paint a high gloss black, upholster the walls in burlap, trimmed in turquoise grosgrain ribbon, then lacquer the ceiling yellow. Very show house chic, and believe me: if I'd had enough room in my suitcase, I would have snatched these puppies up fast for our little place, show house or not. Fortunately for Sherry, in whose booth I saw the chairs, someone following my tweets loved them so much, she went in and bought them! Read all about it on Sherry's blog. Lesson learned: You never know who's listening until you tweet. Just be sure to follow me!

Love them...what a fantastic find!

This looks like a chair that Oly sells, but I'm sure it was a much better price!

Hi Eddie
I love the Louis the XVI style chairs! I have two of these style chairs covered in brown leather that are beginning to show the effects of cats claws (but I just love my cat so much and I dislike the declawing) I may just have the chairs recovered in a similar material. The black and white cow hide is so chic. A table painted in turquoise with yellow lattice pillows near by would be so cool. Thanks for sharing, and for the great ideas! Ciao

Eddie, You made the room you created around my chairs sound so wonderful. Now I am almost wishing they hadn't sold. I've received a lot of comments from the link here. Thanks again,

Now, if I knew you liked that.... I could have tried to convince you more to come here to NC. Remember that chair you posted from Scott's the silver and white one with the ottoman? I am imitating that one now...and I could save it for a certain somebody..*uh huh*...

Hi Eddie,
Just thought I would let you know that HGTV Canada is having a 'Top Design' marathon today. I have been glued to the TV watching all the episodes back to back. It's been great to watch the show this way!Just finished watching the office design challenge that you won....where you used the carpet underlay on the walls.

So cute! I love a little animal print, it really helps punch up a room. I have a zebra chair in my living room and it's probably one of the most commented on items-young and fun! Hope you're staying warm up there! -Amy

Eddie:
That is so true! You never know who is right there and like a little mouse in the corner is listening -- That has happened to me in a vintage shop I use to go to.
I can only image with you and Jaithan, people have their ears perked up and ready to snatch it up or ask your wonderful advice...
Nice looking chairs -- it must have been hard to pass them up.
