Am I the only one dragging their feet after the long weekend? Maybe it's this heat spell we're having. 102° at the moment.
Summer dinners with friends we usually do on the porch, but on a day like this, I suspect we'll be staying inside. Good thing our new monogrammed tableware from
La Plates is so sophisticated and versatile, it looks just as good indoors as it does out.
Combining the kid-friendly appeal of plastic with the elegance of fine china, La Plates has so many eye-catching combinations, you're bound to fine one that suits your style. This is a page out of last month's
House Beautiful.
And here they are in Elle Decor.

Ours were a gift from the owner of La Plates herself, Lara Shelton. We met her back in March when she attended our
Monogrammed Hurricanes Workshop at
Creative Candles in Kansas City. She even has a a blog full of inspiring ideas for summer table settings, so
check it out!
Tonight's table I set with vintage white opaline goblets, smoked glass champagne coupes, an antique dolphin decanter and, of course, our new
La Plates! Now, if only the weather would cool down enough for after-dinner drinks outside!
I haven't visited your blog in a while, and I just wanted to say that your creativity never ceases to amaze me! Love it, per the usual, Mr. Ross!!

What exactly about melamine reminds you of the "elegance of fine china"?

Those are SO fantastic!!! I never would have thought of the color combo - but it is so YOU and so sophisticated. I'm a huge La Plates fan and just wish I could have a rainbow of options in my cupboard. Fab-U-lous post! xoxo, Elizabeth

Commented from my bb yesterday but alas the posting did not make it. We LOVE all the press La Plates have garnered. Could not be prouder of a hometown vendor. And, Creative Candles is thrilled that our factory was the venue of your first meeting. We are working on our own plates but alas we shall lack the Ross flair when it comes time to set the table. Unless, you want to return to KC. Our doors are always open to you and Jaithan.

Love your new tableware! I would love to have a set of my own.
Oh & yes, it has been very hard for me to get back into the work "groove" after such a long weekend. Hot here too {AZ}!

These plates remind me of the fab products at iomoi -- are they related?

Eddie, you know Atlanta is hot, but you are hotter than we are this week. Here's how to survive: Ben and Jerry's Sorbet with Vodka. I'm just saying...

These look FABULOUS on your table. I was overwhelmed by the choices but love the way you have different patterns but in the same hue to keep it calm. That just may be the trick. Now...what color????

I am so jealous of your La Plates. I really want the black houndstooth ones. So cute and they were all over the magazines last month.

Love, love your plates with the monogram,l how fun. I did a post on melamine dishes a while back and found La Plates, they are my favorite, anything with a monogram and I am there. Love all the fun dishes you used and boy Terri is going to want that dolphin, hehe. Have a wonderful dinner tonight and keep cool!! Kathysue

Eddie
After seeing the ad in House Beautiful I purchased plates to commemorate my grandson's first birthday. Such a fun idea and so much better than the standard outdoor "china" you pick up at Target and other places. Really sets your outdoor table apart from others.
Thanks for another great post.

Only one little comment - I to follow on twitter to figure out how to order.....took me a bit to figure out-maybe a quicker way on the blog to the order page?

Yes! I just discovered these earlier this summer. Only problem is: trying to decide just which colors and design to buy. Life should be so complicated, right???

Dragging here in the South as well. Just got home after a very long, very fun weekend at the lake. So hard to get back in the swing of things. Did a link to your blog for the giveaway earlier in the week. Hope lots of my followers pop over and check you guys out. Your always great inspiration for me. Mona

How lucky you both are! I think I would choose the pink diamond plates with my initials 'PS', then I would have an excuse for a dinner party.
I hope the weather cools down for you soon. Enjoy it - winter will soon be here!
