After a fun few presentations at terrain, the High Point Market and City Club in Lafayette, I finally had a moment to do a little fall decorating myself.
Here's another arrangement in a more untraditional palette with dark and light pink garden roses, dusty miller and chocolate cosmos in an antique Gothic urn. Enjoy the weekend, everyone!

Gorgeous! I adore the tray with the antique gothic urn. hugs ~lynne~

Very nice arrangement, I never thought of using cosmos and roses in the same arrangement, I might have to reconsider. Its a shame you can't see more of the container in this picture, I'm sure it's beautiful.

Eddie and Jaithan - So pretty with the dark cosmos!
Outside, the flowers are taking hits with colder and harder frosts here up the Hudson. I'm inspired to gather the brave ones that remain and arrange them.

Thank you Eddie and Jaithan for coming down to Lafayette. You both were such a treat to talk with and your presentation was fabulous! I am SO GLAD I went.
Thank you also for taking the time to let me show you pictures of my house.
I really hope I can go on one of your ventures to Scott's Antiques Market one day.

What a beautiful arrangement. I also love the glasses. I will definitely have to make a trip down to Atlanta when you do your Scotts shopping tour. I go there all the time and never find the same treasures you do! I breifly met you at Highpoint but it was fleeting. Hope you had a great trip!

I, too, really like your unexpected color combination for fall decorating. Orange can become tiresome at this time of year. You have inspired me to look at my own garden with new eyes. As far north as we are, a few things linger: some purple phlox, some dusty lavender stems, some herbs whose leaves have become deeper and richer in color...it doesn't all have to be about mums and gourds!

Stunning! I just read your HB do's and dont's for entertaining. Loved the knife tip. I love a table set with proper manners about some things, too. It let's all the other things on the table be special.

This arrangement is so stunning- I love the chocolate roses with the light and dark pinks- of course the gold, makes the whole thing completely yummy- this is the fall colour palate I have been waiting to see- would much rather have pink in with the browns and golds than orange- I love orange with many other colours (pink, blue, turquoise) but the whole harvest thing throws me off- this is a beautiful alternative!
Posted by: christine | October 22, 2010 at 08:42 PM
Oh, how beautiful! LOVE the chocolate cosmos! (Actually had to look the name up -- thinking it was the drink in the picher! Haha!)
When do you want us over? (:
Happy weekend to you both.

At first I thought the dusty millers and chocolate cosmos were cocktails...that might be b/c its Friday evening! At any rate...now realizing these are the flowers! Regardless, its that amazing tray that has me wondering where and how I can get my hands on one!
