We're heading out of town for the weekend but will be back bright and early on Monday. In the meantime, here's a fleet of nautical-inspired accessories I created for Woman's Day that will keep your home looking shipshape.
I made the lamp by wrapping bright white nylon around the base, while pillows I trimmed with clothesline from Lowe's.
Here's a quick video on how to make the trim!
This French-styled memo board I made with sisal rope and Homasote, a recycled fiberboard that's perfect for pinning up keepsakes. Click here for instructions.
Finally, this sailor knot trinket box helps keep desktop cargo at bay.
Happy crafting, mateys!

I just painted my new office navy, have a white lacquer desk and am DYING to find the right bulletin board- Eddie this one is fantastic and just love that it is handmade...oh, the sisal-spin = brilliant.

fun and inspiring, love the pillow trim and memo board ..great ideas for that seaside look and a nice way to hold onto summer..it's fading fast here in the North Country so anything that is reminiscent of summer gets high marks in my book..

Hmmm ... I think this nylon rope technique would work well on a console table that I've been meaning to refinish.
