From Palm Springs, we flew to Chicago, where the weather wasn't so kind. After the quick drive to Woodstock, a quaint, little suburb northwest of the city, we settled into our digs at the Royal Victorian Manor, otherwise known as the "Cherry Street Inn" in the 1993 film, Groundhog Day. While in town, I did two presentations on holiday decorating and entertaining, hosted by the Fine Arts Association. Woodstock and its people are truly magic, and I encourage anyone traveling to Chicago to hop the train north and tour the town square, the charming stores, and the historic opera house. I know you'll love it! Here's the story that appeared in the local paper with a few of my tips on how to add style to your house this holiday season. Back shortly with more inspiration, including our own Thanskgiving table!

Eddie, you are just the cutest decorator!! You look great on the newspaper there. Have a nice Thanksgiving with Jaithan...hoping you will share pics of your real Tday dinner table~still working to get mine ready.

Congrats to you on all your efforts. Wonderful article.

E and J: if you or anyone else does a better Thanksgiving table, please alert me. I'm waiting for someone to shatter that barrier. Liza, Devon and their boyfriends, with moi, in tow, are all going to Paris on Tuesday. We'll be at the brocantes in the Marais, and markets at Les Puces. Please, please send us tips. I'm begging and will publish said tips--with full credit. I will show up in Nashville, if you will give me my only 15 minutes of cool, with the girlies!
xoxo

Loved some of your vintage finds from there, especially the wood-handled flatware.
