Famed decorator Carleton Varney is having another moment, this one bigger, brighter and more beautiful than the last. HIs latest book, Mr. Color, is a vibrant homage to two of his greatest projects, the Greenbrier in West Sulphur Springs, West Virginia and the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan. For a year now, we've had the honor of working with Mr. Varney's son Sebastian, creating windows for the New York City outpost of fabric house Carleton V. Their newest collection mixes prints, embroideries and wovens to dazzling effect! Check out our Moroccan-inspired retreat, just in time for the winter chill! Huge thanks also to Kristen Tilly Foster for making all of the fabric hangings and pillows. She's an incredible talent who does all of Carolyne Roehm's work. Enjoy!

Saw that at D&D, wow.. just another reason to love Carlton V fabrics!! Fabulous job!!

Just getting around to checking up on blogs –– this is FABULOUS, E&J!!!!!!!!!!!! Good God, I want to jump right in. You do such a great job for CV and and even better job showcasing how versatile his line can be. **I think what is so charming is that in the colorways you chose, this is as relevant, youthful and uptown as it is Morrocan –– certainly has a lot of dexterity. Pulled it off beautifully, sirs.
Happy New Year!
xoxo,
Andrea

Wonderful greys and whites and that soft coral pink-orange. Manages to be audacious and calming at the same time. Clever!

It really does have the Morrocan look. I hope you got to go there for research! I bicycled through it a few years ago. It was a long month.

Hello lovely!
The window is gorgeous. Moroccan yet timelessly French somehow.. though of course the two cultured do cross over, so perhaps it all makes sense.
I love these patterns and the softness of the terracotta. Stunning and all in such good taste. As usual!
Lots of love to you and J.
